The phenylketonuria(PKU) and congenital hypothyroidism are major disorders of inborn error of metabolism causing mental retardation of proper therapy is not promptly initiated. But these serious problems can be prevented by early diagnosis and
treatment
on neonatal screening test. We analysed cost-benefit effect between the cost for neonatal screening test and early intervention for all newborn infant and medical expenses for treatment and institutionalization of already clinically developed
patients.
